What information does a QR code label contain in Tracmor?
QR codes can be used to label your items with a unique identification number called the Asset Tag Number OR by assigning each item with a permanent link referred to as a permalink which is the specific URL for each asset. You can also use QR codes to easily restock or take out inventory.
How can I print QR code labels in Tracmor?
You can print QR code labels using most standard office printers with Avery labels or with a label printer that supports PDF files. These labels are available in many sizes with different options.
- We have listed all Avery label sizes that are currently compatible with Tracmor here.
- We have listed all thermal label sizes that are currently compatible with Tracmor here.
To print the labels, check the assets or inventory types you want to print labels for and click on the Print Labels button. Tracmor will generate a PDF file that you can submit to the printer loaded with the blank labels. It is that easy! If you prefer to order labels you can also export the list to a file and then submit that with your order.
How can I scan the QR code labels with Tracmor?
These days most iPhone or Android mobile devices have QR code scanning support built-in natively to the camera app. On some devices, you may need to enable this feature first in the settings occasionally. To scan a permalink-style QR code simply open your camera app and point it at the label and make sure it is in focus. The device will then prompt you to open the URL contained on the QR code label (the item’s permalink). After entering your Tracmor login credentials you will then be able to view the item’s details. Most browsers can then save the login information, streamlining the process of scanning QR codes.
If you have an external corded USB scanner or wireless barcode scanner that supports QR codes you can also use that to scan the asset tag number into the asset tag field in Tracmor using the web interface.
Where can I buy preprinted QR code labels that will work with Tracmor?
We recommend McAuley Labels, Inc. for purchasing pre-printed QR coded asset tag labels. You can buy asset tag labels on their company website or order the asset tags through their Amazon store. If you have already entered your assets into the system, Tracmor can generate the asset tag list required to submit your order for you with just a few button clicks. This list will include any fields you want to be printed on the asset tag labels.
Can I use traditional barcodes instead of QR codes with Tracmor?
Yes! You can also print traditional 1D, vertical barcode labels which contain only the asset tag number. These tags can be scanned internally by the system to identify the asset you are working with. Read more about using traditional barcodes with Tracmor.
